Retired judge and mediator Carolyn Parr-Miller says that there are three key documents every adult should have, regardless of age. Those three documents are: a will or trust, a durable power of attorney, and an advance directive for health and medical matters.
In her book “Love’s Way: Living Peacefully With Your Family As Your Parents Age,” Parr-Miller states that there is never a better time than the present to have meaningful communications with your parents concerning matters of great importance to their well-being and care.
