One of the clearest distinguishing characteristics of the so-called new atheism, is its moral certitude. Richard Dawkins, the late Christopher Hitchens, Daniel Dennett ,and Samuel Harris, have declared that atheism has finally and convincingly won the war against Christian theism.<\/p>\n

So sure are they of this decisive victory that they have made loud proclamation of the fact and proudly published their summaries of the conflict. Dawkins\u2019s The God Delusion<\/em>, Hitchens\u2019s God Is Not Great<\/em>, Harris\u2019s The End of Faith<\/em>, and Dennett\u2019s Breaking the Spell<\/em> all trumpet their perceived triumph.<\/p>\n

Dr. Andy Bannister in his new book,<\/em> The Atheist Who Didn\u2019t Exist<\/em>\u00a0provides a humorous yet serious response to some of the more popular skeptical arguments circulating in the culture. Aimed primarily at skeptics, doubters, and atheists,\u00a0The Atheist Who Didn\u2019t Exist<\/em>\u00a0encourages readers to avoid bad arguments and wrestle seriously with some of life\u2019s deepest questions.<\/p>\n

Dr. Andy Bannister is\u00a0the Canadian Director for\u00a0RZIM<\/a>,\u00a0speaking and teaching regularly throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe.<\/p>\n

He holds a PhD in Islamic studies. He is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Islam and Other Faiths at\u00a0Melbourne School of Theology<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dr. Bannister is the author of:\u00a0An Oral-Formulaic Study of the Qur\u2019an<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>(a book that reveals many of the ways the Qur\u2019an was first composed) and\u00a0Heroes: Five Lessons From Whose Lives We Can Learn<\/em><\/a>, which looks at the lives of five incredible\u00a0giants of the Christian faith.\u00a0His\u00a0latest book, and the subject of our conversation today is,\u00a0The Atheist Who Didn\u2019t Exist (<\/em>subtitled – or: The Dreadful\u00a0Consequences of Really Bad Arguments<\/em><\/a>).<\/em><\/p>\n
