SER 71 – Dr. Jerry Bergman – Hitler and the Nazi Darwinian Worldview

In his book Hitler and the Nazi Darwinian Worldview, author Dr. Jerry Bergman takes a fresh look at Germany’s most influential Nazi leaders, examining their backgrounds, education and convictions. Dr. Bergman provides compelling evidence that the rising influence of Darwinism, eugenics and race theory in early twentieth-century society set the foundation for the Nazi pursuit of engineering a German “master race” – and exterminating European Jews, Gypsies, Blacks, most Slavs and the Christian religion in the ensuing madness of the Holocaust of World War II.

Stay tuned for a riveting conversation about the dark roots and effects of social Darwinism with Dr, Jerry Bergman on this episode of SER.

  1. Thank you Pastor for this interview, it was very enlightening. Every now and again, when I think about our brethren in Christ who suffered at the hands of the Nazis, I wonder if they consoled themselves by remembering what Paul wrote in Romans 8, particularly verse 36. And did they openly pray and sing praises to God in their captivity as Paul and Silas did (Acts 16:25)? And if they did, how did their persecutors respond?

Perhaps Mr. Bergman could share in another interview how the Christians responded to their persecution, if they followed the example the Messiah provided for us (1 Peter 2:21). With the ever increasing persecution against our Saviour in these modern times, an interview(s) on this topic would surely be beneficial and an encouragement to the Saints.

Thanks again for the interview, and for making it available to your listeners,
    Bud

    • Hi Bud:

Thank you for listening and taking the time to write. I like your idea. My next interview with Dr. Bergman is scheduled for March I believe. I will ask him if any of his research revealed testimony about the Christian response to persecution under Hitler. God bless you.

      Mike
